BUSINESS NEEDS SPIRITUALITY

Science has led to a mechanistic approach to business. The human element also inevitably becomes mechanical, oriented towards profit and material wealth creation. However, the reality is that humans have feelings, emotions and a soul which cannot be ignored or denied. However, spirituality cannot be discussed in a rational 'scientific' way as it is about head and heart. It can be expressed through art, creativity, poetry, music, stories, myths - in so many different ways. I have written a collection of poems on business which try to explore the connection between head and heart in a creative way. I am also convinced that we need more stories about business, which can be read aloud and discussed in MBA classes and explore the human vs. mechanical conflict in business. True stories of individuals who combine their spirituality and apply it in their workplaces would also be educational. For me Spirituality is not the same as religion - although all religions have an important spiritual dimension. It is about the non-rational aspect of the human mind and consciousness.
