UNEARNED INCOME
We live in an era where few question the creation of wealth without effort. Examples of this are money made from property investment and trading or from stock market investment. The owners of these investments put very little of their own effort to earn the profits or wealth. Yet they are entitled to own it and keep it. At the same time, there are millions who have no capital or property who cannot benefit from this at all. There is significant inequality - paradoxically, there are people with multiple homes lying empty just as there are millions of homeless people. Under any ethical system, where a society desires equality and fairness and justice, such wealth creation has to be restrained or limited in some form.
